This article gives you the step by step approach on how to set up a WordPress blog site using AWS Lightsail service.
Step 1: Login to your AWS Console and search for Lightsail.
Step 2: You will see the below page soon after you login. Then click on Create Instance.
Step 3: You will see the below options. Choose the platform that you want to host on and select the blueprint as WordPress.
Step 4: You will have an option to add a bootstrap script which will be executed while launching the instance. Also, you can choose your SSH Key Pair for connecting to your instance.
Step 5: You can choose the instance plan based on your resource requirements and price.
Step 6: You can give a name to your instance and add the tags for identification. Then click on Create Instance.
Step 7: Instance will be launched and you should see it in pending state.
Step 8: When the instance is in Running state, we can connect to the SSH session using connect option as shown below.
Step 9: SSH session will be as shown below and will be opened in a separate window.
Step 10: You can find your Private IP and Public IP on the running instance as shown below.
Step 11: Open any web browser and enter the Public IP. You will see the web page as shown below. Now, click on the Manage button which is at the bottom right corner of the page.
Step 12: You will see the Login link for the Admin console.
Step 13: When you click on the Login link, Admin page will be like as shown below.
Step 14: To get the password, we need to connect to the SSH session and read it from bitnami_application_password which will be located in the home directory.
Step 15: Login using the password for the first time and change it as you intended.
Step 16: Now, after logging into the Admin console you can start creating your own content.
